Discover reporting issues

I have a Discover More.  My statement drop date is the 20th.  On the 20th they report my ending statement balance.  But then the report again on the 26th my current balance.

Anyone else have a Discover and have this issue with reporting 2x per month 1 week apart, routinely?

Basically, if I don't want it to report a balance, I have to PIF by 20th, then not use the card till the 27th.  Smiley Indifferent

Re: Discover reporting issues

I do not have such issues with Discover More. Reported balance as of 4th of each month. The only occurance of reporting twice a month when there are changes (my experience CL changed.)

Give them a call. Probably changed your statement date or someone made a booboo (LOL). I remember my account being a bit querky in the beginning as well. So, no, it's not just you. Smiley Wink

What annoys me about discover is it sometimes takes 3-4 days for a transaction to show up on-line.

[7/25] Scores 8/9: 700-800s. Util: 1%. AoOA: 17.11y, AoYA: 9m. New Acct: 1/12, 2/24. Inq/12: EQ 0, EX 0, TU 0.
TCL $693.5K: Personal $562.5K, Business $131K.

Yup. Novus network posts really slowly for some reason. I have no clue why.

Re: Discover reporting issues

DW and others have seen Discover report twice in a month. In January, they reported 3 or 4 times. Nothing unusual was happening, couldn't see any cause ...

Discover was the only card that reported on my credit report within hours of getting approved for the card.

Re: Discover reporting issues

GEMP/JCP  (JCPenney) was reported as a new account within 24 hours.

The other interesting thing on this account is that it was a TU inquiry.  All of my other GEMB's (Rooms to Go & Care Credit) were exclusively EQ pulls.

And it appears that JCPenney actually manages the credit even though it is backed by GEMB?  When I call for Care Credit or Rooms to Go the phone goes to a "Welcome to GE Money Bank"  but for JCPenney it is answered by JCPenney and they also appear to be involved in the credit decisions.

GEMB gave me $14k and $6.5k but JCPenney saw fit to only allow $350.  I think I read that JCPenney is historically known for low limits.  Is this par for course or is this much lower than normal initial limits?
