I made a large payment on my account and Discover updated my account balance on all three bureaus prior to the statement cut. Has anyone else had this happen? Ive never had this happen before. Is this normal?
Large balance swings in either direction tend to trigger a reporting mid cycle with many banks, its not uncommon. The statement balance will still be reported when it cuts.
Cool. I want to make sure it's at $0. ![]()
Wonder what Discover is up to. Random reporting ??? Every 6 months when I get ready to app for a new card I try to PIF and report 0 balance on all but 1 account and Discover just blew it
... in the past when I paid before statement cut date and if statement is 0 balance the reporting is 0 balance too but this time the statement cut with 0 balance and Discover all the sudden reports 15$ ... wonder where they got this amount from?
There is nothing like that anywhere near the statement cut date or after ??? Anybody has similar experiences with random reporting lately with Discover ?

hummmm, I made a payment of $4500 before and i did not get a updated account bal. But also i made the payment a few days after it showed up on my online account. That may be the reason.
it seems Discover are good at f***ing things up. It hasn't even been up to a week I was approved for the It card, as a matter of fact I haven't even received the card yet and they already reported the new account to all 3 bureaus. Now im just confused as to what to do cos I was planning to apply to DCU/NASA before the new accounts I had acquired lately start showing up but Discover already made its way to my report. And im quite sure I might be declined on the grounds of new account smh... Thumbs down Discover!!!

My first statement cut last week and I have had my IT card for about a month and it still hasn't reported to my credit yet. I have read Discover is all over the place with reporting. some say it takes up to 3 statements and some like yourself it reports almost immediately

I would expect a new card to report quickly. My last new card, the Sportsman's Guide Visa, reported days after my approval. When I do multiple applications later this year I am planning on doing them all the same day.

yes I can attest to that fact that it reports almost immediately. I was approved for the card on 05/05/14 by 05/07 it was already on Experian and today it started reporting on Equifax... I havent received an alert yet for TU. And it's funny cos I haven't gotten the card yet and the ones that were approved way before the Discover hasnt showed up anywhere
