I'm done with any kind of credit card apps and CLI requests until June 2013. The only cards I have that could get a CLI would be my Freedom and Chase Amazon but since they are HP's and since I want to save room in Chase's internal limit for my CSP card (which I will hopefully get in June ) I'm stuck having to plan my next app spree.
One of the cards that Ive not really considered is a Discover card. But I'm open to opinions on it. Why should I get a Discover card? What do people that have them like about the card and what do you typically use it for? (Daily use, online, etc.) My current targets in June are SPG, CSP, BCP, Citi Forward and maybe Flex Perk, new charge card and maybe another NFCU product.
So why should I get a Discover card?
I want a Discover to replace Cap One once I decide to rid my report of them. Although like you, I'm not apping for a good long while.
But from experience of someone close to me - They do grow with you graciously and they take care of their customers atleast in this persons case - I want to say the have something in the ballpark of a 40k limit with Discover. Although their scores are 815+ and make well over 100k
im interested as well.
with a freedom, amex zync and my hard pull free 5k bank card im done apping unless amex.
discover, and citi, and us bank are on my next to do in a couple years.

the reason i wanted a Discover card is because you get 5% off everything at sixflags lol also because i wanted a card from every big bank
5% cash back from vendors which change quarterly.
This quarter it is up to $1,500 in purchases at Department Stores and for Online Shopping from October through December.
The best customer service of all the cards.

i live about 15 minutes away from six flags, and have been once in about 5 years. (which was this september)
there werent many long lines besides superman and batman and even then no more then a 10 minute wait.
is it 5%off (cashback) on the tickets to get in as well? season passes? we paid 220 for 4 of us to get in and we had about 6 adults and 2 kids. think of the cash back....
as for shop discover.
chase also has something similar that is called ultimate rewards mall which offers up too 10% that ive seen + the 1% you usally get unless its the 5% category.
