So I have the premier Disney card and Chase seems to be happy with me because I've gotten two CLIs without even asking and I'm at 13,600 now.
but I don't want to pay the $50 af because it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I can get 2% with other cards for free. We do use this card for 100% of our spend though and we are pass holders to Disneyland and get a lot of use out of the perks (like 10% off dooney bags for my mom haha).
My question is if me downgrading will affect my CL and that the card is a visa signature. I love having that CL and want to keep it. I just don't want to pay that annual fee. I'd love any advice.
I doubt downgrading would change the CL; I downgraded my CSP with no issues. You can confirm on the phone when you are downgrading to ensure.

Yeah I didn't think it would but I wasn't positive and didn't want to find out the hard way. I'll have to call soon and take care of it.
Thanks for your reply!
I can't see any situation where the AF is worth it given that you can get unrestricted 2% cash back elsewhere. The Disney card is mostly about the perks, which you can get for free with the no AF version, or even with the Disney debit (you don't get the reward dollars with the debit, but you get all the discounts/perks).
If you're using it as your primary card the fee may not be as big of a deal but I'd consider running your spend through a more flexible cash back card with a similar/better return.
In the past, I thought the basic no AF Disney card was not issued as a Visa Signature but I don't know if that's still true, and I don't know if that matters when you downgrade. If it's important to you I would just ask when downgrading. Your limit won't change as a result of downgrading.
Chase looks more at how much total credit they want to offer you.
So some are able to apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve and instanly get 50k. Others start with a Chase Freedom for a SL of 11k then get a second Chase card like the CSP for 24.6k so then they have you around 36k total credit.
For your case at 13,600 I doubt they would cut that on a downgrade but I guess it depends on what you are downgrading to. The Freedom line is considered to be entry tier as a no fee card and those can go over 20,000. Slate is the no history credit card with a small SL but don't know how high they will let you go with it.

I had the Disney Premier card a few years ago. I did not lose any of the credit line (18k) when I downgraded, but I did temporarily lose the Visa Signature status. A few months after downgrading, Chase sent me a letter out of the blue stating that my regular Chase Disney card (no-AF) would become a Visa Signature, and the new card that came in the mail afterwards reflected this. I did close the account shortly thereafter because it was quite redundant with more competitive products already in my possession.
I don't know if downgrading it will change the status but I know for certain that the Disney Visa (no annual fee) comes in a Visa Signature as I have the non annual fee one and it's a siggy. I don't use it for much except my trips to the Disney store for the 10% discount.

I originally applied for the regular Disney Visa and later took an offer to upgrade and then downgraded after a year and then took another offer to upgrade. No changes to my CL or VS status.
IMHO, the AF isn't worth it. My favorite perk of the card is the 10% purchases of $50 or more at WDW retail. The rewards are eh.
