Re: Does AMEX Approve thin Credit Lines?

I would think you would be safe. Amex was an early acquisition for me. You might get a lower SL, but Amex cards grow really well. Good luck!

Re: Does AMEX Approve thin Credit Lines?

Ok, also I opened an account for a credit card back in December, how long should I wait? Or do you think I should be fine?

@InfinityKiller22 if it was just one card, and you don't have a bunch of new inquiries or accounts, you should be fine. Amex prequal site is pretty solid.

Does AMEX have a required Annual Income? If so, what’s the lowest they will approve?

There is no publicly listed income requirement for American Express cards issued by AENB in the United States.  International branches often have minimum requirements, which can differ by product and may be a requirement due to locale.

As a college student with high credit scores, I was looking to apply for a new credit card and I was going to apply for the Blue Cash Everyday card cause of its benefits, plus I prequalified for it on AMEX prequal site. Unfortunately due to college my annual income is around 18k-20k from part time work so idk if they will approve me or not.

It will impact your starting limit but it won't prevent approval.

We've had multiple members on ssd where income was in that range and it wasn't an issue.

There's been a plethora of DPs with individuals who have been approved with very low incomes, whether as students or from other income sources. Of course, results would also depend on your overall credit profile and a variety of other factors.

The only way to know for sure is if/when you apply for the card.

There isn't a minimum income requirement that I know of. I think you could get approved with $18k-$20k, but I think your profile should be clean, utilization should be low, like 5-10%, and DTI ratio should be low. I've seen people on here get approved as a college student with around $15k income. One of their co-branded cards (Hilton, Delta, etc.) would likely be an easier approval, but you should apply for what you need, not for what's easiest to get.

Scores - EX: 808, TU: 803, EQ: 806
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $15,000
United Quest - $15,000
United Gateway - $7,600
Amex Gold - $18,300 POT
Amex BCE - $20,200
Amex/Schwab Investor Card - $11,500
PayPal Credit - $2,500
