Does Amex Offer Balance Transfer Promotions (Excluding Sign-up)

Hello,

Apologies in advance if this has been covered - wasn't able to find my answer. Does anyone know if Amex periodically offers balance transfer offers like other card issuers? I don't mean as a sign-up promotion, but for existing card users.

Yes they do.

Not sure how one would get qualified for one, though.

I've had:

BCE since 2014

EDP/ED since 2015

SPG since 2017

I have not gotten a BT offer on any of them (not that I've needed one). It seems to be a YMMV thing.

I've never heard/read about anyone on here getting BT offers...unless you receive the 0% when applying/approved for some of their cards.

Yes, AMEX does. My BCE came with 0% interest for 16 months. Fee at 3%. Haven't used it though.

The OP's question is about BT offers that aren't part of a signup bonus.  Was yours after you received the card?

Yes, AMEX does.

This happened when all 3 of my scores were on average at 745. Not sure of the selection process. I've been a member since 1998. Not sure if that has bearing.

Are you talking about random BT transfers outside the BT offers when applying?

Random to me, yes since my credit is not so hot yet to begin with (even at recent peak). But I have no charge offs, baddies, derogs. A few lates on my report though.

I think maybe we're (at last I am) a bit confused.  The b/t offer for 16 months was something that came at the time of approval or later on after you have had the card for awhile?
