I opened up my 1st Amex card a couple weeks ago but can't seem to locate where it tracks how much spend I have left in order to get the SUB. I know that with chase cards I can see the tracker? Does Amex have one too for their cards?
They do not. You're on your own for tracking SUB spend.

Shouldn't be too hard since it's only $2,000 in the first 6 months. I'll hit that naturally about 3-4 months in at the latest.
On the rare occasion a customer can see one on their online main page and/or email if AMEX sends one out but for the most part you will have to do the math yourself. Or if you want to make sure you can call/chat with AMEX to find out how much you've spent and how much more you need to reach the SUB

Do you get an automated email telling you that you've reached the SUB once you reach it?

No, you won't receive an alert that you have reached the SUB

There's a feature within the [desktop] statements & activity section where an option to view YTD spend or a spending report can be used to tally your progress, just keep in mind of the net total minus any returns and AFs are excluded from the SUB spend requirements.

At that rate I'm guessing they just deposit the SUB into your reward dollars and then you just see it one day when logging in.

If I'm assuming it's the Cash Magnet offer the $200 SUB will be applied on your statement so you will see as a credit on your account. They might have changed it to where it just gets deposited to your Rewards Cash balance but I don't see anything verbiage on that

Yeah its a cash magnet. I have never had an Amex so I wanted to try them out and thought I'd start with a no AF card.
