Received a CLI on my QS1 last month. Just upgraded to QS this morning (finally, no annual fee) and am wondering if I have to wait another 5 months for CLI?? My QS1 annual fee was just charged in January, and they won't refund now that I'm PC'ing (Reason: that was a different product). So, hoping I qualify for CLI on the QS right away??

I've never read that a PC interferes with a CLI with Capital One, but I'll be dealing with the same issue in a few months myself.
I'm disappointed that they were unable to do anything about your QS1 AF. I understand the reasoning you were given, but if it were me, I would be tempted to call back maybe one more time just to make sure. The reason is they routinely refund the AF if you close the account after paying it (up to 45 days later I believe), and while in your case the account wasn't closed, they are actually right - it was a different product, one you no longer have.
In any case, there's nothing to lose by asking one more time.
Logic would follow that since you no longer have a QS1, you shouldn't have to pay an annual fee for a QS1, especially since you took action so soon after the fee was charged (soon enough that had you closed the account, the fee likely would have been credited).
That's just my 2¢, though.
Thank you for your reply!! My thoughts exactly. I actually asked two different agents via chat (not phone), and they both said no refund on the QS1 annual fee!! This makes me think that I should be able to request a CLI on my new QS right away!! Once I received the new card I'll try for the CLI and keep you posted.
What was your platinum CL and what it it go up to when you upgraded to the QS? I applied for my QS1 in Oct and was approved for a 500 CL. After the third month I hit the luv button and received a CLI to $1500.
I now show a pre qualified offer on theitr page for a QS and the Venture card. I am interested in gettig a PC to the QS from the QS1. Do they usually give a CLI when upgrading?
_summer78, when you say you received an "instant" CLI before you even received the QS card . . .did you hit the luv button or did you just log in one day and there was an automatic increase???
My card started as an old HSBC card, then converted to the QS1 many years ago. I only had a pitiful credit limit for years, and would get minor incremental increases when I would hit the luv button. I tried multiple times to upgrade to the QS and they kept telling me NO. I finally got the QS1 limit up to 3250.00 about 7 months ago. I started to use the card more, charging a couple hundred $$$ per month and PIF. Last month I hit the luv button and got a 2,000.00 increase bringing me up to 5250.00 (largest increase ever). Then yesterday I thought . . what the heck . . . I'll try for an upgrade to QS again. IT"S A MIRACLE. They told me I qualified finally. So, since I just got the 2,000.00 CLI last month, I'm hoping I don't have to wait the additional 5 months before I can get a CLI on the QS!!!
The replies seem to be split, so I'm curious to see what the outcome will be once I hit the luv button again. I think I'll wait until I activate the new QS card. Cross your fingers everyone!!
