Does Discover do anything special for Cash Back redemption during Black Friday?

Hello MyFICOers!

My statement recently cut for my Discover It card and I now have $160 in Cash Back Bonuses that I can now use.  I am wondering before I start redeeming for gift cards to give away during christmas, Does Discover do anything special during Black Friday or Cyber Monday?  Like for example, if I redeem $45 today, I can recieve a $50 gift card for a store like Bass Pro Shops, will Discover make my Cash Back dollars worth more, say $40 for $50?  I am fairly new to Discover, I got my card in Sept.  Thanks!

I have never seen Discover do anything special for black friday per say but they do have promotions for redemption options once in a while.  The most famous one of course was the %50 off shell gift cards.  So thats half off GAS but that was 3 years ago.  A more recent one was half off sams club membership cards that worked as a regular walmart gift card.  I say save it for a promotion.  Check SD daily for the heads up!

How did you get all those cash rewards? Never heard of that before? Also, I have had three one month special promo offers in 2013 that gave me 2% on everything unless it was covered by a higher rate. Got'ta love it.

When you shop the Discover site getting 5% + and internet shopping 5% this quarter adds up is my guess.

We used shop discover to buy a tv. Does discover give you any type of confirmation? I see absolutely nothing acknowledging we used shop discover. Makes me a little nervous if we will get the credit (5+10% bonus on a 900 tv)

I replaced my old macbook pro through shopdiscover and the apple store, 5% online shopping and additional 5% bonus through shopdiscover, and I started christmas shopping, everything through shop discover.  I already hit the $1500 threshold, so the rest of my holiday shopping will be through the Chase online mall and my Freedom card.
