Why did you need to use a HP for a CLI out of curiosity?  Were you attempting a CLI amount that a SP simply wouldn't support?

I assume you were asking me, but in 2013, I didn't even have the option to request a CLI online. I was 6 years out from BK7, and the only way I could get an increase was to call and give permission for a HP. My starting line was $2500, and it went up to $5000. In 2014, I got an auto-CLI of $1000 (to CL $6000) and the option to request the CLI online.

When the Discover CLI train took off last April, I was finally able to request CLI with SP online (and I've had a few).

Re: Does Discover typically pull Equifax?

Yes, it does. I have been managing the credit for three of my friends, and Discover has pulled Equifax for all three of them in Orange County, CA! They all applied for the Discover It card. I hope that helps!

First time declined was. tU pull for me which has always been the worst cos of the inquiries.. Then 3 months later apped again and it was EQ, which actually was my best report..got $4000 to start with and I was just a student

Last time I applied for a Discover card in September, they pulled Equifax. Equifax is my lowest score by over 70 points and therefore I did not qualify. I have 7 open disputes on Equifax. I am in the garden but have said since the beginning if I got approved for Discover it would be worth coming out. I was wondering if they usually pull Equifax? I know that I can pull up the website for my state but it seemed to be a mix. What do you guys think maybe 70% Equifax? I know it's hard to say for sure, just curious. My husband called them the other day because he was thinking about applying. When he got on the phone the customer service reps seemed so incredibly nice. I was thinking maybe I could call them and tell them I'm having a problem with Equifax and have several disputes but I'm interested in applying. Maybe worth a shot? If she says no they have to pull Equifax then I'll leave it alone.

For New accounts they seem to ALWAYS pull Equifax-at least for California. I can't speak for other areas. And, Transunion - Soft Pull for Credit line increases!

Best luck!
