I have had my United Explorer card for almost 4 years and it is going to renew next month. I want to downgrade to the United Gateway card as I'm not using the perks the Explorer card offers, but I want to keep my credit history. The only perk I would use is the Global Entry credit. I am eligible to renew my Global Entry membership in 4 months. If I were to downgrade after getting the Global Entry credit, does anyone know if Chase would make me pay back the credit?
