I believe the gentleman I spoke to the other day told me that I wouldn't have to pay the fee. (I did try to switch to a no-annual fee card, but they weren't having it.
I tried to log into the account today just to make sure the fee had been waived since I closed the account, but it just says "account closed."
Do I have to call them to make sure? (I already threw the card away so I don't even have the card number to give them.)
What has been your experience with them?
Thanks in advance!
I would definitely give them a call and verify. They should still be able to pull up your account using your information.

Better safe than sorry. Call them to find out what the current official situation is so you can correct it if necessary.
I have never had a problem with them. Their cards are kind of lackluster. There are better choices out there. There cards are stuck in the 1980's. You need to log on weekly to be sure that you are not being charged any fees
Thanks
Mark
I will call them today to verify.
Mark, I can't log in to see what's going on. They took away my access to the card and the account as soon as they closed it. (It seems to me that they would allow you access if there's any type of balance, so maybe they did wipe it out.)

Don't be surprised if six months from when you closed your old card, they send you a pre-approval letter for a Quicksilver card with no annual fee. I closed my first card with them last year after only 7 weeks because they were holding my payments, and figured they'd be pretty unhappy with me; nope! Six months later they pre-approved me for a $3,000 Quicksilver card, and while it is my lowest limit card, it typically gets my largest monthly spend. Why? Because the features of the card and the ease of use for the rewards are the best I've seen.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
Which card are you talking about? QS1?
Yes. The QS1.
Weirdly enough, I get emails from them almost every day asking me to do a preapproval to see which cards I qualify for. They were good for rebuilding, but I'm not going to take a triple hit on my credit for an average card. I have 17 cards besides that one, and I'm pretty happy with what I have.
I get it. I used it for rebuilding. Once the QS was approved. Closed. See below. RIP.

You can't log in to the Capital One site at all, or you can log in to the site and it just says "ACCOUNT CLOSED This account is currently closed"? I closed both my CapOne cards in 2020 and I can still log in to the Capital One site to see transactions history and statement history, as well as to see balances. All my closed cards have worked this way because your online log in to your credit card accounts are essentially linked to your social security number. They simply don't block access to a SS# holder, because you may reply to their offer to get a new card.
