I've had a love/hate relationship with this card from the start. I don't do a ton of shopping online, and the $1500 limit didn't give me a whole lot of reason to change that. (Not that I'd ever even CONSIDER carrying a balance at 27%!) I tried putting heavy use through it for a time and it was still stagnant. Tried the India number today and went through a 10 minute Q&A only to meet the same fate.
I checked my credit score on Ebates own site showing a solid 740 TU Fico.... Went to chat and shut it down..
It felt good! ![]()

Good decision. Congrats!
I got the card when it was useful for a particular MS method, but once that stopped, I thought I would just let it close. However, since then I have found it useful from time to time, getting between an extra $50 and $100 a year on the rare occassions that ebates offers more than other portals (at places I shop!) Not enough to apply for the card IMO, but worth keeping for me for now!
I ditched my EBates card with a $10k limit. Don't know why I ever got the card since you don't need it to get those Big Fat Checks anyway. As a matter of fact, I just got another $11 check and due $7 already on the next quarter without the EBates card.
I got stiffed twice though. WalMart twice stiffed me after purchases over $100 going through EBates. Tomorrow, 5/6/19, there is going to be a 20% cash back from multiple stores so I will check that out.
Synchrony APRs are as bad as Comenity. This is why I keep passing on the Old Navy Visa offers. I am down to 9 CCs and would like to keep cutting until I get down to about 4.

Right, you don't need it, but you get 3% CB if you do, so 1% more than you would get using a standard 2% card.

Funny you’re all talking about closing your cards, and I was only starting to consider it since I opened an MR earning account last week.
I've got MR's rolling in like crazy everytime my wife hits Safeway or Raleys with Amex Gold
I feel like I'm feeding a NFL franchise...
I think the only time I really got any value from Ebates Visa was when I ordered 4 tires for my Jeep through WalMarts shopping portal. I think I got $55~ out of a $920 purchase where automotive was some special WM online sub category and then got 3% on top of it. Other than that, even porting it over to MR's I would've gotten very little use, if any at all from the card.

We have a little different spending pattern since we hardly go to a grocery store. We buy almost everything at Costco.
Still trying to figure out if it's worth adding another account for the potential 1% extra over the BBP. Probably not.
