Re: Dumped by Iberiabank...for non-usage!

@JSS3: Me neither. I thought most lenders usually shut down a card after at least a full year of inactivity.

Re: Dumped by Iberiabank...for non-usage!

I don't think 8 months is a long time either. I've read around the forums though that using SD cards every six months is a good method. I go no more than 3 months without putting usage on a SD card because I have small OCD tendencies and also I feel like I earned every TL I have so I want to decide if/when it gets closed, not the bank.

Anyhoo... Sorry, Dave, that's a bummer. But like you and others have said, there are other fish in the sea. Smiley Happy

I wouldn't worry about USAA and inactivity. They let cards go by for years without usage and will keep them open. Smiley Happy

Is your USAA card very old? I use to work in their cc dept. and the only time we saw the 6% interest were cards that were grandfathered in (my mom's is that way). I know they have that low apr card, but I thought it started at 9%.

Anyway...upward!

I'd still go with Simmons (if there is still an interest).  He's "tough" and "handsome" too!  Although, he gives you more time without activity before he gets closed.  Iberia, IMO (although a good bank), is kinda the "flaky" type.  Go for the good and strong ones to make it worthwile Smiley Tongue

I'm sorry to hear it Dave. I thought about applying for Iberiabank card at one point but never went through with it. Good luck on Simmons if you decide to apply.
