Elan paid $1,000 bonus

Last November, Elan sent an email to some holders of their Max Cash Preferred (and other?) cards with a remarkable offer: spend $75 in 4 online purchases and "get 1,000 Cash Back."  I started a thread about it:

Was it strangely worded? Yes.

Was it too good to be true? Many people said so. 
Did they pay it? ... Yes! 

I got a letter from Elan this week telling me they were going to issue me a $1,000 credit. The credit has now posted, with the description "CRED DUE TO ERR W/ EMAIL SENT 11/10/22." Thanks Elan!

This is pure speculation, but my guess is someone threatened or filed a class action lawsuit and Elan decided it was better -- perhaps even cheaper -- to pay in full rather than litigate.

Nice. Pizza hut sent me a BOGO email. They didn't honor it. Be like elan, pizza hut.

Yeah I got a letter in the mail too, but they only credited me $75 not $1000, it hit my account a couple days ago.  Regardless, it's good to see them do something. As that while quite obviously an error by someone on all the emails, could have likely caused a huge legal snafu for them if someone pushed a class action.

Grats on you getting $1k though, maybe the differeing amounts are due to the differing email offers when it happened, I'll take the 75 though.

Shocked to be honest as clearly a mistake.  Wonder how many people they actually had to pay this to.  Guess least US BANK isnt one of the regional banks in deep financial issues.
