Re: Embarrassing Credit CardsS

Nope, I don't consider any CC embarrassing, with the possible exception of a Hooters card. Those eyes...  Smiley Very Happy

Hypothetical question.  If you were out having lunch/dinner at a high end restaurant, and someone within the group pull out an Orchard or First Premier card, would you be embarrassed?   I expect to see meals being paid for with an AMEX card or some other uber card.

I would hope not too many people are that shallow but I'm afraid there are some snobs who would notice something like that and be embarrassed.

Visit South Beach and you'd see just how shallow people can be.

Re: Embarrassing Credit CardsS

Since the hypothetical question is directed at us (those who know the difference) and not people who wont know the difference, i can say I personally woulndt be embarrassed. My mind would probably go to "I wonder what kind of credit problems he/she had." With that said i would never go to a high end store and pay with orchard or FP. I went to buy DW a gift from a high end jewelery store for xmas, as i was sitting there waiting for my gift to be wrapped (drinking champagne and watching a 50" tv in very comfortable chairs) i debated whether or not i wanted to pay using my credit union cc or my cap1 with a pic of my dog. Obviously i choose the the credit union cc because i didnt want any funny looks and its hard to look professional with that card. All they care about is to getting paid, that was my personal problemSmiley Very Happy

That was my thought and what prompted me to post the question.

Re: Embarrassing Credit CardsS

Embarrassed?  No.  As long as the charge goes through, I don't care if it was made on a Kardashian Kard or Amex Platinum.  I think that most people would be grateful for the meal rather than worry about the card status.  One qualifier:  I'd definitely separate business from personal occasions though as one of the previous posters has stated and a good many companies have corp cards just for that occasion.

I'd say the only cards that would get my attention are the JP Morgan Palladium and Amex Centurion since I don't typically hang out in those circles.  I would definitely start wondering about who I'm rubbing elbows with!

Popping bottles at the club would be a different story, but I don't think anybody has a high enough limit on their FP card to do that in SoBe!!!  Smiley Tongue
