Equifax and Experian Score Changes

I've got to stop monitoring these scores so closely:

New Citi PremierPass Card started reporting on November 7th--zero balance, zero credit limit listed under revolving credit. I saw a nice increase to my Experian score and a disturbing decrease to my Equifax score.

Experian FICO before new account 670
Experian FICO after new account 695
(There was 1 other change on my report--a CLI on a revolving credit line for $1, 300)

Equifax FICO before new account 681
Equifax FICO after new account 653
(Equifax scorewatch didn't list the CLI so I'm hoping in a few days that will give me a little uptick)

Haven't checked TU yet and don't plan to until next month after I pay all of my balances down to 0 except for one or two accounts just to show a little activity. Hopefully that will push me to the 700 club.

Re: Equifax and Experian Score Changes

Equifax hates new accounts for me too. They reported a $15 dollar Balance Increase and a new credit account opening on the same day and I took a 30 point hit with them. I paid off the card with the balance and immediately closed the new account and only recoverd 15 points, I hate eq its my lowest score.

Re: Equifax and Experian Score Changes

And now Equifax has reported my CLI of $1,300 and the score increased from 653 to 670, but it's clear that Equifax really dislikes new credit (at least for me). My score was 693, and a hard inquiry and new account reduced my score by 40 points....

EQ sucks the big one.

Re: Equifax and Experian Score Changes

I noticed that once I got to the high 700s EQ didn't mind new accounts as much.  I changed my CU card to their top shelf one (closed one account, opened a new one that shows as new but has history-weird that) and took a total hit for 1 inq and new AC of 5 points
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Equifax and Experian Score Changes

Couldn't resist, so I just ran my TU scores.

Before new Citi Card: 660
After new Citi Card: 666 (however this score reflects a CLI of $1,300 on a revolving acct)

Without the CLI, I would have taken a 8-15 point score reduction (I believe). The CLI appears to have boosted my score around 8-15 points basically negating any reduction from the new acct.

In summary, EQ hates new accounts for someone with relatively high balances and slightly below average FICO scores--

EX hikes the score up when a new account is listed (or at the very least doesn't give a significant reduction)

TU takes a slight reduction.

Now we'll see what happens in the next 30 days when I finally lower my util to under 10%....
