Expedia card from Citi.

Anyone have the Expedia card from Citi? If so how do you like it? The sub seems pretty good but the spend categories are pretty non existent.

Re: Expedia card from Citi.

I don't have it, but it seems to have a limited appeal.

1. The SUB is pretty small unless you get a targeted offer.

2. Regular travelers can get much better rewards/perks elsewhere.

3. Infrequent travelers may favor a simpler (and flexible) cash back card.

4. A few sources say the points are only worth 0.71 cents each. I'm not sure if that figure is out of date.

5. "Gold status" that comes after 15 nights probably doesn't mean much in practice, given how high most hotel reward programs set the bar for elite status.

Some people occasionally report good BT offers and promo APRs.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Re: Expedia card from Citi.

Unfortunately, the Voyager+ version is no longer available which was a step up from the basic Expedia card. That one at least had some decent benefits. I obtained the Voyager+ a couple years ago and the SUB was 30,000 + 100 toward Expedia purchases.

I would agree, depending on your travel needs, there's likely a more suitable product vs. the basic Expedia CC.

Re: Expedia card from Citi.

Unless you exclusively only purchase on Expedia, the card is average at best. There's much better cards out there for general travel spend and depending on the frequency of travel, there may be some general cards that work out (i.e. CB cards).

Re: Expedia card from Citi.

I once considered getting this card, as I have bought vacations using Expedia several times. After doing some research I found that there were cards with much better rewards setup. The Citi Thank You for example, you can apply the points to several partners. Whereas with this card it's strictly Expedia. I've also read that redemtion may not be as flexibile as others.
