Re: Favorite Credit Card to use / Easy bank web site

Favorite card(tough one)  I'll pick two as it depends on the day lol - WF propel, Amex BCP

Favorite apps Amex/Discover - Love how easy the layouts are and how easy you can lock and unlock cards. I will give Amex the edge though as they have Amex offers and if you have au's it's very easy to distinguish their charges. You're also able to set limits for them right in the app.

Worse app hands down goes to PayPal. There is definitely a learning curve to it. The way they try to integrate your Mastercard with your regular PayPal account needs to be changed. It's so annoying that I mostly use web which isn't much better but it gets the job done.

Re: Favorite Credit Card to use / Easy bank web site

Favorite card is a topic that people can and do debate endlessly and really, it depends so much on individual circumstances that my answer won't mean anything to other people. But I use Amex Gold for dining and groceries, Citi Costco for gas and Costco purchases, Amazon Store Card for Amazon, PayPal MC for non-category. Other cards used for very specific reasons.

But, favorite site/app to manage cards is a simpler topic to discuss that varies less by profile ... my overall favorite is Amex. It's good in every way I care about, both the site and the app. I had a Capital One secured card for a while last year. It wasn't much of a card, but the app and site were excellent. I'll call those my top two, even though I do not currently have a Cap One card and don't plan to get another one. Discover is also good, but for some reason, I don't find it as useful overall. Maybe because I have only one Discover card and so how I interact with it is simpler. Next tier, Citi. It is as functional as the others I have listed, but seems a little glitchier and the design does not seem quite as fresh and current. JMO.

Next would be Sync (in my case, Amazon and PayPal). They work fine, though nobody is going to give them a design award. I am often puzzled by the hate Sync and particularly PayPal get here. But, I use a laptop for it. If I used my phone, I'd probably be complaining too.

Next, my credit union card's interface works, and it's logical, but it's a bit clunky. It just treats the card like another account, in a list with my checking, savings and auto loan.

The worst I've ever used was Green Dot / Primor. The only positive I can say for it is that it functions once you figure it out.

Oh, yeah, edited to add: Apple Card has a great interface, especially for phone-centric people who rarely use laptops/desktops. I didn't think of it before because I find the card itself nearly useless.

I think even on the laptop people are annoyed that there is no direct link to the credit card side.   You need to go to paypal, and then go through a fairly slow link to see the credit card.   As a contrast, Fidelity, for example, allows you access to the Elan Credit Card from their main site but there is also a direct link.   Personally I don't find Sync that much of an issue as I also use the Paypal Business Debit so need to see those transactions as well.

Now Amex web site is not a winner at all for me!   I want to easily see how much each transaction gave me in rewards.  Citizens is great at that as it shows without an extra clicks.

Re: Favourite Credit Card to use / Easy bank web site

Favorite credit card: The CSP. It's dumb, but I like the metal feel. It was my first and is my only metal one. Blue is also my favorite color. I like the Chase Offers for extra cashback and the Chase Shopping portal for even more bonus cashback for online shopping.

Favorite banking website: Chase. They make it easy to see the rewards on each purchase in my statement. I wish Discover would do this for each transaction so I could accurately know that a transaction got 5% instead of trying to do some math with my statements and the rewards page totals. Plus, I like Chase's UR portal to see rewards, the Chase Shopping, etc. Minus the ease of checking my URs per transaction, BoA is a close second in favorite banking website.

Worse to use: I'd have to save Discover. I get the most technical difficulties with them and their chat hasn't been useful for my questions. I usually get a technical error when either switching from my bank account to the credit card site or when logging in and picking one to go to. Both PSECU and PNC make everything seamless in one interface instead of Discover using at least 2. I also don't like that you can't directly see the cashback earned per transaction, which I previously mentioned. Even BoA lets me see this in the rewards section.
