Applied for Chase Slate in March and was denied. Do have a Chase Freedom though almost at the limit. Was denied the slate. Called today after finding out about recon numbers. He told me to reapply and then call back. So I did. Current guy makes it sound really bad.
I pay all my cards On TIME but apparently I use too much of the credit. He made it sound horrible. Waiting for decision now.

Too much credit with too high of a balance. He said I could pay some off and then reapply but at that point I don't need the balance transfer. Oh well. I'll be happy with what I have.
Never apply for credit when you are maxed on what credit you do have. Lesson leaned
Yes, lesson learned. Howere AMEX just increased my CL from 2K to 5K...of course it's PIF. Wonder if they do balance transfers?
Sorry to hear...it does suck when you get hit w such perspective, but you gotta move on and learn from it...time will make it better ![]()

Please clairify I don't understand if you were given an increase/CLI it's a revolver and you can pay over time
Maybe its a charge card max limit?
I have an AMEX blue that I pay in full every two weeks (if we use it) and my allowed spending limit went from 2K to 5K.

That's what I though that is a credit card that you can carry a balance on a possible do a BT
Charge cards do not give CLI's and are NPSL thus do not give CLI's they just increase the mysterious spending limits which aren't usually disclosed
That's the funny/annoying thing about credit. You have to get it when you don't need it, because when you do need it, you can't get it.
