So, DW and I both start the year with FICO's in the 700's.....we've both been in the garden for more than six months, and we're going to refi the house next week. I have a day off, and nothing better to do, so I start looking for soft pull CLI's across the board for both of us.
No, Nope. Nada.
13 No's for me, 9 No's for her.
Somehow, that is very frustrating.

Didn't you mention even being balance chased?

Don't give up so quickly. Quitter!
Did you repeatedly CLI on those cards in the past? Banks do have a limit to how much they will be willing to extend without a further credit check. Maybe you hit it?

Not literally, no. Earlier in 2014, DW had three cards CLD her, one immediately reinstated, one reinstated later, and one simply wouldn't.
Our util is still a bit high, but we're both in the 700's with NO baddies anywhere, and few inquiries.... I figured it was worth a shot.... Apparently, I was wrong. ![]()

FWIW (approx nothing, espeically as it is done!) I wouldn't do this just prior to refinancing. It probably won't help your scores if they pull at closing (because the CLIs wouldn't report yet) and there's always a non-zero possibility that there is a screw up and a SP becomes a HP.

Eh. Could be, I guess. I think that our limits are small enough that this wouldn't be the case, but it is possible. ![]()

THIS I thought of, so I did NOT ask for CLI's on any of the accounts that MAY HP us. I just asked on Sync and Cap One accounts...and checked Discover for SP offers without requesting an HP CLI.
Thanks tho!

Define "a bit"... 50%? 70%? 90%?
No doubt the cause of your denials.
