Update: I just checked my Fingerhut account and it looks like they have FINALLY cleaned up their mess! Their website now only shows me the closed Fingerhut Advantage card, and nothing about Fetti at all. I was fortunate that I caught it in time before it ever reported to the CRAs but I know it was close and could have gone the other way. I feel for everybody who was loan shopping when this happened. For me, the end result is that after one year of credit rebuilding I was able to "trade up" from a Fingerhut card to a Chase Freedom Flex, and that's pretty remarkable. So there is hope! Are there setbacks, wobbles, and calls to foreign CSA's in the bottom of a well on Jupiter's 3rd moon? Sure. But there is also hope.
