Ok this isn't making sense to me. I closed Fingerhut this month by sending them a letter and they closed it just fine, but they are showing it as Closed as of April.

Now, I know there hasn't been any activity but the account isn't closed in April. It is closed in December! Any way I can get them to change the close date?

You can dispute it with the credit bureau.
I'm not sure but you may be able to contact Fingerhut and ask them to update it with the bureaus.
Is April the last time you used it?
Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500I heard that fingerhut does not report when there's no balance and no activity, so if that's the case since April then there's probably not much they (fingerhut) will do for you. You can try but it may be useless.

I would contact them directly about it, try customer service first then a Sec 623 Direct Dispute if you dont get anywhere, if you dispute it at the CRA level you are opt to lose the entire TL.
Why does it matter when it shows it was closed?

Exactly. It will still count as a positive tradeline ~10 years from now, and doubt it would mattter if it falls off April versus December 2024. In fact, if the CRAs go with the April date, then it may fall off sooner in 2024 unless you absolutely feel it needs to count until the end of 2024, but at this point it's just splitting hairs.

Really no specific reason. I guess I just didn't want it to lose 8 months of account age, come 2024
. Maybe I am being overly concerned with this. The important part is that it shows closed I guess.

I suppose it doesn't matter one bit.. I just didn't really understand it why it would show as closed in April. I should be happy it is closed!
