Credit card agreement update:

If you purchase lottery tickets in the United States with your credit card, it is now classified as a purchase and it is no longer subject to a transaction fee. The credit card agreement language which previously mentioned lottery tickets has been updated to:

Cash Equivalents: by the purchase of foreign currency, money orders or travelers checks from a non-financial institution, or person-to-person money transfers, bets, lottery tickets purchases outisde of the United States, Casino gaming chips, or bail bonds with your card or account number (including though the use of an enabled mobile device).

They just started a pilot in California where you can buy lottery tickets at the pump, charged to your card.

Good lord. I sure as hell hope that the individual serial numbers of those lottery tickets are going to be tracked. People will be mugged, and the thief will go straight to the gas station to get lottery tickets. I also hope that the person robbed will be entitled to the winning lottery ticket if it is tracked and the thief tries to cash it out.

You can't buy lottery tickets in Florida. Against state law. I know it will work in credit card. Just don't know why they don't let you do it.

Lottery tickets plural encourages fraud. No argument there. Now, a single scratcher while you're pumping away make sense because you cant have a cigarette haha
