GE Credit Cards - Worth Getting? You use them?

Hey,

Since I am looking for an EQ puller, and I already have care credit $6k and buyer credit, I wonder if I should

apply for one of their real credit cards. Have you guys had any success with them?

Thanks

I have Walmart, Buyer Credit and JCP. Needless to say that these three are my lowest CL's. Walmart store card is completely useless. Low CL, high APR, no rewards.

CU's usally pull EQ.

This is just one piece of data. But as a for what it's worth ...

Right now while GEMB is in the midst of decreasing credit limits on store cards, someone on another site reported that her GEMB credit card credit limit was decreased:

"GEMoney (NetRewards) Visa CLD 25K->5K....exactly 8 days after statement cut..last activity 8/30...(CLD for inactivity)"

Also, so far in general I haven't seen anyone on any site report anything particularly positive about GEMB's level of customer service.

PenFed (Pentagon Federal Credit Union) is a Equifax credit puller. They have a great cash back card.

Alliant Credit Union also appears to be an exclusive Equifax puller. Lotta great reviews.

Digital Federal Credit Union appears to favor Equifax.

And a bank called Partners First has a lot of great cards such as a cash back card with 1.25 cash back. They seem to be an exclusive Equifax puller:

Re: GE Credit Cards - Worth Getting? You use them?

Thanks, guys.

However, I was hoping to hear about the actual credit cards (net rewards/etc), not store cards. The reason I am curious is becuse nobody ever talks about them and I was curious if they are harder to get/have higher standards than the other cards which, as mentioned in this thread, are receiving cld's up the wazoo.

As for penfed/alliant, they turned me down when I had a collection. It fell off so I might re-consider. However, I might prefer a smaller CU as I did not appreciate how Alliant treated me. They never got back to me and when I called, they simply said "Denied" and hung up on me.

I have a universal amex with GEMB and the APR is high 22.49%(?) and the CL is 1k. Not the greatest, but it's something to try if you don't want a store card. It earns some rewards.

It was an EQ pull and FICO was a bit over 700. No baddies. Short history.

Wow, that looks good. Since I have 2 short history cards with GEMB, I wonder if they'd deny me. Very tempted...great find, thank you.

Hi, I think I did not do a good job of identifying it clearly enough. But in the previous post, I had excerpted a recent comment about the actual credit card. The comment was from Kiowa in the current "GEMB will soon be contacting a few of us..." thread at CB.

She said this about her Net Rewards Visa from GEMB:

"CLD 25K->5K....exactly 8 days after statement cut..last activity 8/30...(CLD for inactivity)"

Re: GE Credit Cards - Worth Getting? You use them?

I did a little more looking, and I could only find a couple other people at CB with GEMB actual credit cards.

Maybe you could try sending them private messages. MaTTeR has the 'low APR' GEMB Mastercard, and tozion has the Boston College GEMB Mastercard.

There's a thread over there called "UNIVERSAL American Express By GEMONEY, Anyone know anything?" with some comments.

And I found another site with a couple comments about the GEMB Mastercard:
http://www.cardoffers.com/introComments/posted/card.asp?idmin=22815

Also, in a thread that MaTTeR started, he found out from Kiowa that you can not convert from one GEMB Mastercard to another type of GEMB Mastercard. She also told him that in two years she's never seen a luv button on her GEMB Net Rewards Mastercard.

Personally, based on the limited number of comments, the GEMB Mastercards sound like a dead end.
