GE wont provide account #, recourse?

I've been trying to do a BT from my Sams card and I've called GE and they will not provide my the full account number, they have repeatdly told me the number is on my card but the number on my card is my  Sams club memebership number.  What would be recourse for this?  And no, it is not on my bill.

Your credit card number is on the back of the card under the barcode

That was the number I provided for the BT originally and they said it was not right...I wonder if Cap 1 did something wrong?

pull up your statement online and you should be able to get a "payment account number".

Target does this... it's not a credit card account number but it's a special account number linked to your account for payments.

If its a personal credit account you would replace (not use) the first seven digits of the number on the back of your card. You would replace those with 7714 and use 100 and the last nine digits.

Do you have any previous credit reports with that account reported on there? CRs provide the first 12 digits of your card (123412341234XXXX), look at a receipt from a purchase you've made with that card for the last four digits (XXXXXXXXXXXX1234).
