Has anyone experienced this? I requested a CLI on 4 of my GEMB accounts, all of which are in good standing.. no lates.. no miss payments... nowhere near CL. I got $75.00 for my Walmart cards.. not much, but I am rebuilding .. and am happy with it. Then I got denied for Paypal Buyers, Amazon, and JCPenney.
I know their programs are quite buggy. I had to go through that whole .. "identification verification problems" stuff when I got each of these cards. I am wondering it their computers are reading my one CLI with Walmart as one CLI request for all accounts.. and denied them because it is noted that I already got increases on all accounts.
Anyone experience this? I mean, there is no reason for me to have not gotten the CLI, especially if all they are condidering is my history with them. I tried speaking to CSR, but... grrrrrrrrr!
That is odd. I requested the CLi's minutes apart. I have had all of the accounts for the same about of time. I think I caught GEMB on a good week.. because they gave me like 6 accounts that week, when I could not even get ONE from Macys.
I thought they just looked at your history with their account... did not think they would look at collections.
GEMB is very odd with their CLI's. I too have had the same type of experience. I have about a dozen GEMB accounts. I got some in January, April, and July. I am finding that they want the account to be at least six (6) months old before a CLI is even possible. From that point, every three (3) to four (4) months you can do a CLI. However, they are not just looking at the internal history. For me they are pulling a soft on EQ every time. Whenever they approved all of my accounts they pulled TU for where I am located. It took me over eight (8) months to finally get a CLI on my JCPenney and Dillard's. However, my Wal-Mart and Kirklands crossed six (6) months and poof I had no problem. I got my HSN in January and it's still stuck at $200.
My recommendation is to hit the CLI button every month after the statement cuts. At worst it is doing a soft inquiry. Nothing to worry about. GOOD LUCK!

My wife also got a cli of $75 on her Walmart card this weekend she's had the card for 4 months she also got a $300 cli on her Oldnavy card this weekend she charged $400 from July-September and paid it off this month. I have the pp Mastercard and my experience with them concerning cli is that you need to wait 6-9 months befor asking for cli's and you need to use the card regularly in order to get the cli's. I charge 2-3k every 3-5months and pay it off within 1-3 months of charging it then i ask for cli's and have always gotten them. They've given me cli's of $1500-$2500 each time(asked twice).

I disagree with hitting the luv button every month, it looks like you are desperate. I would limit the requests to every 6 months.
I think that all of your are misunderstanding what I was saying. Do correct anything that is wrong.
Typically your GEMB account (or any other other) has a greater possibility of getting a CLI after it is six (6) months old. After that point, you could hit the CLI. However, I have experienced that some CLI's with GEMB will still not get approved at that point in time. GEMB wants to see typically four (4) months of experience at the current CL. However, if it's not six (6) months old at least, I have not had the ability to get a CLI. They like things such as PIF, a lot of money going through, and use of the card each statement. It doesn't even have to be that much. On some of my accounts HSN (got in January) and Dillard's (also got in January), I still have not been able to get a CLI. However, with the others that are older than six (6) months, I have. After the CLI is approved and accepted, then you know that you are not eligible for another with them for three (3) to four (4) months. That means that you DO NOT need to even think of hitting the CLI button until then.
Now am I making sense? This is all based upon my experience with GEMB. I have the following with the patterns shown:
01/08 HSN $200 CL ---- No CLI to date
01/08 CareCredit (1st card) $5,000 CL -- No need for CLI
01/08 CareCredit (2nd card) $5,000 CL -- Upped from $3,000 to $5,000 at activation
01/08 Dillards $250 CL -- No CLI to date
01/08 JCPenney $1,500 CL -- Started at $150 -- Upped to $1,500 09/08
01/08 Lane Home Furnishings $2,000 CL -- No CLI to date
04/08 QVC $900 CL -- No CLI yet -- October statement is six (6) months
04/08 SHOPNBC $1,500 CL -- No CLI yet -- October statement is six (6) months
04/08 Lowe's Consumer $6,500 CL -- No CLI yet -- October statement is six (6) months
04/08 Kirkland's $600 CL -- Started at $500 -- Upped to $600 09/08 -- Used often
04/08 Wal-Mart $475 CL -- Started at $400 -- Upped to $475 09/08 -- Used often
07/08 Meijer $500 CL -- No CLI yet -- January statement is six (6) months
