To let everyone know what I have learned when applying for the GM Rewards Master Card.
First to apply it IS A SOFT PULL unless you accept the offer. If they give you an offer and you accept you can 1-expect a HP after accepting and 2- you will get the pre-approval terms.
I applied for the Apple Card a few weeks back and was approved but didn't accept. They emailed me reminding me of my offer and then decided to accept. Right after applied for this card also since they are both from Goldman Sachs and again a SP for pre-approval. They both pull TU Fico 9. Mine was 779 and very limited file.
Another thing I called today to find out my statement date and asked also when they report. I was told something very interesting. First they report day following closing and 2- the weird thing is they said they update to the CRA every time you make a payment even if multiple times a month. I will update after seeing this happening first hand. If it's true it would be a pretty good asset to have on a card I think.

I like posts like this, many useful dp's if you are interested in the card.

Apple Card's Closing date is kind of unusal as it is the same as the payment Due Date the last day of every month 30th/31st and thats the case for every card member. However even though I pay well before the due date and have also paid a couple times a month. They still only reported a single payment amount after the Closing date at least in my case and I've had the card since it came out.
As to at least my GM Card the Closing date is exactly 3 days after the Due Date.

I have both the Apple Card (2019) and GM Card (since Jan 2022). My account balances are reported a few days after statement close (though Apple card seems to skip a month sometimes). Even though I've only had GM for a few months, it's only reported at cycle close, even if multiple payments were made (no off-cycle reporting).

I was curious if he was misinformed or not this the reason I said I would test before believing lol. Either way I love how when you pay your CL is immediately replenished.

Mine also, he told me my statement close is the 12th while my payment is the 9th

I recently did the preapproval because of the soft pull and was approved for $2k but I did not accept and take the hard pull. I just wanted to see if i could get approved as a data point in my rebuild since I don't have a good use case for the card.

The only bank I know that reports mid cycle payments when your balance hits $0 is Chase. Used to be that way few years ago when I still had accounts with them but could have changed now.

I can confirm that Chase still does this....mid cycle reporting when you pay one of their cards to a zero balance.
So I can confirm that my GM Card has reported off cycle when making a large payment.
