Re: Garden Club Thread - November 2016

Happy November!!  Been a couple months since I checked in. I was bad, I opened 2 accounts in August and I took advantage a BT offer so my utilization on one of my card is really high!  My scores took a bit of a hit...but I know they will recover over the next 3-5 months as I pay down the card and my accounts age.  So in the meantime, her I will sit and wait. Smiley Happy. Happy gardening!!!

Scores 8/25/2017~ TU: 753 / EXP: 742 / EQ: 726
Goal: 770's or higher by end of 2017

Re: Garden Club Thread - November 2016

One month and counting in the garden (assuming my refinance lender doesn't repull my credit again before closing.) I'll to stay at least six months in the garden before looking at any new cards.

On another note, pretty pissed about my refinance lender screwing me out of $560, but rates have gone up 0.18% since I locked and I have the sunk cost of my appraisal deposit so I'm stuck with them Smiley Mad

Checking in for November! It's my birthday month too Smiley Very Happy  Happy Birthday to my fellow Scorpio/Sagittarius gardeners!  I earned my gold spade last week, but not sure I'll make it to get my palladium...I have a 0% promo that's expiring before then and the year didn't go as planned financially so I may need to bite finally on Citi's offers for 21 mo to keep from paying interest...just worried I won't get a high enough SL to not have the card be way high on util.  Scores are pretty much stable at this point because I can't seem to make much of a dent in my util %, it's frustrating but I've been in much worse situations in the past so I know with time it will get better.

Summer 2018 FICO 8 scores~

Re: Garden Club Thread - November 2016

Happy November! Checking in after some board time off to pick up my shiny new platinum spade! A year in the garden as of the end of last month, and it's brought with it a bump in scores (TU hasn't updated yet). I also got a bump on my AMEX BCE to $25k. Everything is swell in credit land. The only card I'd ever want more than what I have is the CSP or CSR, and I seem to be blacklisted from Chase via WaMu. I'll probably give that a whirl in another year or so, but otherwise I'm happy.

My sister and I are competing for the highest credit score, which is dumb but fun. Now I'm helping my Dad work on his credit, which is less stressful and very rewarding.

Gardening works!

Checking in myself. Month number 5 of gardening. Suppose to close on our new house next week. Things are a bit crazy right now as the bank just now showed me the initial appraisal which was done back in Aug and of course its low. Shame on you Fifth Third for such poor communication. We still need a final appraisal so hopefully it will improve somewhat as the first was done when the house was no where near completed. Fingers crossed. This really puts a damper on my joy at this point.

Fingers crossed for you! Stay positive!Smiley Happy

Hello All!

I would really like to join the garden. Normally, I am a brown thumb and anything I touch plant-related dies a horrible death. But, it is my intent that this does not carry over to my gardening here. Smiley Wink

So, here I am. I have a BK7 that discharged 7/2014. I did not start rebuilding credit until September 1, 2016, when I applied for and received my first CC after bankruptcy - Cap1 QS1. I added two more cards at the beginning of October - Discover It and NFCU Cash Rewards. I thought adding the new accounts would drop my score. But, it didn't. My scores actually increased a little. In these two months, I moved from "Fair" credit to good credit across all three bureaus.

Fico 8: September 2016  TU 643, EX 653, EQ 667

Fico 8: October 2016 TU 667, EX 690, EQ 703

Fico 8: November 2016 TU 678, EX 692, EQ 704

Short Term Goal (6-12 months): Above 700s across all three bureaus. No apps until May 2017 at the earliest (and only if I cannot get my Cap 1 QS1 to PC to regular QS).

Thank you all for the wonderful information you provide. I could not have done this without all of you.

ETA: Removed bronze spade because just discovered. I did not app for NFCU Cash Rewards on Oct 1. It was Oct. 4. Therefore, my 1 month is not official until Nov. 4.

Good job!
