Genius CLI idea and approval. Why didn't I think of this sooner?

My credit score has been slowly going up and I've been dying to get my utilization down to increase my score before applying for the cards I desire more. My credit utilization has been the only thing stopping it from going up faster. Today I read that it's common for people to ask for a credit line increase up to $20k with Care Credit  (which is one of the cards I have). I only had a $800 credit line but I asked them for a $15,000 raise anyways. They said they could only settle for $7,000. $800 to $7,000? I'll take it! That's going to make my credit utilization go from about 75% down to 25% if I calculated it correctly.

How soon should I expect to see this reflect on my credit score? And since that was mainly the only thing weighing me down and I fixed it, should I expect a big jump on my credit score?

As soon as the new limit reports is when you'd be able to pull a new score and see the change.  This depends on when your Care Credit account typically reports.  You know for sure it will be within 30 days or less, though.

If you're talking aggregate (overall) utilization dropping from 75% to 25%, yes, you'll see a significant score increase.  You'll be crossing thresholds at 68.9%, 48.9% and 28.9%.  Each one of those threshold crossings is likely good for 15 points or so.  I'd ballpark your score gain to be to the tune of 45-50 points.

For an example.. one year during a relocation I had extremely high utilization across many cards.  Simply paying those back down to a single digit utilization %  jumped the score back 75 points.  It can be a significant improvement.
