Ok guys just go my bank of America travel card. I haven't activated it. When I applied I called to see why I got such a low limit ($900). They told me that it was because I didn't have any other credit cards. This is not true and how they saw that I am unsure but I come to the community for advice. Should I call the backdoor number before I activate it and ask for a higher limit. Maybe matching my local bank credit card. Or do I activate it and then call tomorrow? Any help would be appreciative as this is my first major credit card. Thanks guys.

How many other credit cards do you have? Are all your tradelines reported on all 3 credit reports? I only ask because maybe the report they pulled didn't have any credit cards on it. You could always see which report they pulled, pull it yourself, and see what information is contained in the report, then armed with that info, recon.
You can also try to recon without it. I don't think it would hurt and the worse they can do is say no. If so, build some history with them, then see if the do an auto CLI or request one yourself.

Pull all three reports and verify that your cards are reporting to all of them. Card issuers may only pull from one CRA.
I'd strongly suggest always making sure that your reports look good and are reporting what you think should be reported before applying for anything.
