Getting rewards through Amazon Payments? Seems too easy

I recently read an article about using Amazon payments to reach promotional spending requirements. You pay a friend or spouse money from your cc using Amazon payments. No fee to do so from what I understand.

I read that Discover considers this shopping with Amazon during the 4th quarter promotion and gave 5% back. You just pay someone and pay off your credit card with the money you spent. Seems too good to be true.

All ethical arguements aside, does anyone do this or have any experience with it?

If you don't want to admit you do it, PM me for privacy purposes lol

Lots of people do this.   It's the easiest form of manufactured spend, although very limited in the amount.   People also get shut down by Amazon for obvious abuse, most commonly of the form A sends to B and B sends to A.   I do it to cash out gift cards, others do it to earn miles, but again, at a $1000 per account per month, not a huge way of getting rewards.
