Glad I pulled multiple credit reports

So I plan to have an app spree this month and I've been monitoring my UTIL through Credit Karma. I know that CK grabs their information from TransUnion and for me it updates every Tuesday of the month. Unfortunately, when CK supposedly "updated" it still showed a UTIL of 69% so I just had to know, was it CK or TU that was causing the delays in updates.

Knowing that my future cards like to pull EX and TU, I went ahead and bought an EX credit report and there were no flaws and UTIL was reported at 9%. So then I told myself its probably a good time to use one of my free credit reports this year and check on my TU. To my dismay, it seems that TU, not CK, were the ones slowing things down and still had my old UTIL of 69%

I'd rather not buy another credit report this month and I was wondering if I can reliably rely on Credit Karma to update me when TU posts my new UTIL?

poo, that sucks to hear. I may just wait till CK updates and then buy another TU credit report to double check.

Re: Glad I pulled multiple credit reports

TU is generally the slowest to update and for me they usually update around 7 days after EX and EQ. It sucks I know. Good luck

Re: Glad I pulled multiple credit reports

Yes TU lags behind the others significantly.. To the extent I just got tired of it and applied for my Cash+ even before my new lower util reported.

Re: Glad I pulled multiple credit reports

It's also quite accurate for me. As others have mentioned, TU lags behind the other two bureaus.

CK provides whatever is in your TU report.  As others have indicated. TU tends to be slow to update.  When TU updates CK will update.
