Going to App - Question on Balance Reporting & Utilization

I had a $300 left on my Barclay's card from an Macbook Air I purchased. I just paid the rest off this month and my statement showing a $0 balance was released on Feb. 24. My Sears card has a statement balance of $590 that reported. Ideally I'd like to wait until that $0 balance from Barclay's reports so that I am only showing ~ 10% utilization when I app.

Is there any way to know when the $0 balance is showing on my CR's? I use Credit Karma (updates once a week) but will that update my Barclay balance even though I already updated my profile this week? I can't get my next update on it until Mar. 4? The same question applies to Credit Sesame for my EX report. If they will update the accounts individually when it goes to my CR, can these FAKO sites be trusted as accurate for this purpose?

Also, can the CC companies see my current utilization or just what was reported from the most recent statement balance?

Thanks for any answers! Looking to app this weekend if possible but I want to be certain I am showing the $0 balance before I do.

Without a daily puller, no.  I use Credit Karma (updates once a week) but will that update my Barclay balance even though I already updated my profile this week? Updates everything only once a week I can't get my next update on it until Mar. 4? Can get next report 1 week from day you update it.  The same question applies to Credit Sesame for my EX report. No, I would not trust anyting from these sites, false alerts are known to be rampant especially with CK

Also, can the CC companies see my current utilization or just what was reported from the most recent statement balance? They see only when they actually pull a report either hard or soft and it is only a snapshot of that moment in time.

Re: Going to App - Question on Balance Reporting & Utilization

Thanks for the response gdale!

So my last statement balance on my Sears was $590 about two weeks ago. Now my current card balance is about 1200. If I apped tonight the card companies would see my balance of 1200 or just the last statement balance?

Re: Going to App - Question on Balance Reporting & Utilization

They would see whatever the last balance is reported from Sears. CC's report once per month and they either report statement balance or as of a specific day of the month. You couldn't know that unless you have a daily puller.

So the answer to your question is that if you appd today, and your statement showed 590 two weeks ago then more than likely that is what is reported on your CR. They wouldn't update it to your current balance as of today.
