I'm finally ready to add 1 or 2 more cards to my list and I'm looking for some good cash back cards, if any are better than what I already have?
Top categories we use :
1. Gas
2. Grocery
3. Resturants
4. Everyday
I thought about adding an Amex card since I don't have one, but if there are any better ones?
Current cash back cards I have are :
Fidelity , 2% everywhere
Discover IT , 1%everywhere, + 5% select categories
Cap1 Quicksilver, 1.5% everywhere
Navy Federal, 1.5% everywhere
@socalchef00 More Rewards Amex from NFCU sounds like a good fit.
Citi DC, Citi Custom Cash, WF Active Cash, Bread Amex
Navy Federal More Rewards. 3% on gas, groceries, dining, and transit.
The AMEX BCP may be good too if you have more than $270 a month in groceries and streaming. 6% groceries, 6% streaming, 3% gas. It has a $95 annual fee though so you have to have enough 6% spend to make it positive.
The Citi Custom Cash is great as well. No annual fee and gives 5% on your top spending category each month automatically. Also has a $200 SUB.

An excellent card is the Affinity Cash Rewards. My wife and I only have it since last December and combined we earned $567.58 in cashback, not including the $200 SUB each of us received as well. It has insane Bonus categories on top of the regular 5% at Amazon, 2% on gas, supermarkets, and streaming services. This quarter is an additional 5% on Gas (7% total), Supermarkets (7% total), and Garden centers (6% total). Supermarkets include Costco and Walmart.
I've got the AMEX BCE card primarly for groceries. No AF, 3% on groceries, 2% on gas and 1% on everything else. I also have the WF Active Cash card, no AF and a flat 2% on everything.
Simplicity:
BofW 3% (Gas, grocery, restaurant, fast food) or
NFCU More Rewards
Love collecting cards / want max rewards:
Citi Custom Cash, Affinity Cash Rewards and then keep getting more 4% & 5% untill you hit your CC limit
A lot of general spend replace the 1.5% & 2% cards:
Alliant CU Signature (2.5% up to 10k/mo), has a few requirements however IMO the best general spend.
Get cards just for SUB and drop in a year or two:
A long list of 200$ for 1000 to 3000 spend
FNBO, City, WF, Etc
It be more helpful if you can provide your monthly spend on each of those categories....
Some really good suggestions so far. If it were me, I'd add the Chase Freedom Flex. 5% on rotating cats, 3% dining, 5% gas for the first year. I love my Nusenda but I have heard it is harder to get today than when I got it several years ago. I try to get 5% in the same cats you mentioned - gas, dining, grocery - and I am able to almost every quarter, every year. Good luck.
As others have mentioned Navy More Rewards would cover dining/groceries/gas/Amex and since you have a Navy card already see if you can product change it to save an app. You can also check if you have an offer to PC your Cap1 card to savorone for dining/groceries and to save another app.
Everyday is already covered with a Fidelity 2% card so you can keep using that.
The two cards apps I'd recommend to you are once again mentioned upthread: Citi Custom and Affinity.
