Re: Good Will Letters Work!

I just got a letter from GEMB today, and they say they will delete my one 30-day late from all credit agencies! Yay! Well, actually what they said was that they will delete "all derogatory information", but the only derogatory information I have on record is the 30-day lates. It does work! Mine took almost exactly 4 weeks as well. Now I'm gonna wait until that removal shows up on my free reports via Privacy Guard, and then buy my FICO's again and see how much it goes up. I think this should get me to 720 for sure! Yay!

Re: Good Will Letters Work!

i just finally got back a letter from MACY'S about a month after sending it.
and for the record, i had no real reason for the lates...i simply put they were an 'oversight'...
they removed all derogatory information (2 30 day lates) and even apologized for any inconvenience it caused me!
that is the nicest thing ever!!!

too bad i cant get the big bad wells fargo to change their ways.
ive sent 3 already and somehow they all find their way back to the SAME CUST SERVICE REP.
im gonna try one more letter in a few days to a completely different state and then i give up.

Re: Good Will Letters Work!

Any acct serviced by gemb seems to grant gw pretty easily.  I hit up Dillard's and Penneys and they both granted gw.

I've heard that Macy's is VERY easy to get gw.

I CALLED JC and they couldn't have been nicer!

Re: Good Will Letters Work!

Thought I give a current status - the GEMB lates came off EX and EQ - TU is being a pain.   I keep sending them letters with copy of CC letter - send me back form with lates still on.

Wrote a letter to the Pres of TU on Monday via priority - let's set where that goes.

WAMU denied, but I am going to ask for recon as soon as GEMB comes off my TU.

I tried to gw my one 30-day late with JCP online via account email and I got the "we are reporting accurately" response.  I mailed them a letter 6/6 and have yet to hear anything back  Smiley Sad

Re: Good Will Letters Work!

Sue,

Is there any way you can send me a edited copy as well?
I'm in a situation similar to Bob, where my lates aren't that long ago.
They are with Kohls Department Store (Chase) and I called Kohls and they refused to remove them.  So I thought I would try a letter instead.  I'd love to see how thick you poured it on and use that as a starting point!
Thanks,
Jen

Keep trying!  Send to every address you can find!  It'll cost you some postage, but every time one of these suckers falls off, you know its worth it.  It's kind of fun for me.  I send 2 a week to each of my OCs/ CAs ... and to all the addresses.  It's dumb, but last week I wrote them all out by hand (slow work week) and this week I printed them out with little ghosts for Halloween.  It's mostly just entertaining me, really.  Ha.  But sure enough, yesterday a CA dropped a collection!  Who knows which address worked?!  Persistence is key here.
