Good megathread on WF Autograph Approval/Denials?

I am very much interested in applying for the WF Autograph later this year. I have no had a WF product in the past and from what I am to understand, they can be tricky with approvals. It seems like some get denied for too much un-used credit across cards while perplexingly others get denied for too much useage across cards (even when that usage is fairly nominal). I also don't have a prior WF relationship at all which I understand can make approval even trickier.

Is there a good megathread showing people's data points for approval/denial? I searched but was unable to find a megathread on here about it.

(fwiw I make 90k a year with an overall fico score around 795, 4 new credit accounts within the past year).

With a score of 795 I'd just go for it. Your Bankcard 8 is probably higher. 760+ is just as good as 800. A HP isnt going to touch you much. But thats just me. Smiley Happy

Best bet is searching the approvals section for people who were successful and credit card applications for any reported denials. From a quick search myself on approvals it seems to be not many posted but that doesn't mean it's hard to get approved since it's still a fairly new card. You will just have to gather data points and make that determination yourself after whether to apply or not

My largest concerns are not having any relationship with WF and having about 15 open credit accounts already. I hear they can be weird about both things.

You might be right about the relationship. They denied me and no HP was performed. I had a judgement back in the early 90's with them. Paid mid 90's? No go.

Wait they denied you without doing a HP at all? That is very strange and I have not heard of this!!

I know to get a WF credit card, having a pre-existing relationship with them isn't required but I do think it helps with getting approved or a higher CL if you are approved. I'd hate to apply and be approved for only like 1k because the whole reason I want the card is the 3% on travel.

Score around 800? I'd go for it, if I were you.

Honestly, my WF card (has been PC'd a few times and is now an Autograph) was my first card.

They started me at $1,900 - no credit history whatsoever.

Obviously YMMV but assuming you don't have any derogs, I'd apply. Keep us posted if/when you do apply

I'm going to wait until December because I want to purchase some plane tickets around then and that'll put a dent in the required spend to get the $300 sub + the 3% for travel.
