A bright spot for me today was getting AmEx's Credit Bureau to agree to a special manual update of my now-zero balance with them to help me with the problem of my charge card with them not being coded correctly by 2 of the 3 CRA's.
I've disputed, but that not only takes time to correct, the CRA's seem to be really dense about no-preset-limit cards - no guarantee a dispute'll get things fixed on the first try.
So I called AmEx with a copy of one of my credit reports (necessary to talk to the Credit Bureau people) and explained the situation and what I hoped they'd be willing to do under the circumstances to help provide a temporary 'fix' by reporting the zero balance.
After checking my 'normal' report date (4th of the month), the CSR agreed to put through a manual update.
Yay!!! Even if the disputes don't fix the problem, a zero balance will at least temporarily eliminate the UTL-skewing caused by past AmEx balances!!!
No luv from Chase, but this'll be a HUGE help!
