HSBC Activation question

Hello

I did the discover app, and got denied and was sent an HSBC Discover. I let them send it because the Discover folks couldnt tell me how much the CL was.

Well it shows up in the mailbox with the standard $300 CL. Nothing has shown up on my credit reports besides the Discovery IN

My question is, if I dont activate it, will it go away on its own or do I need to call and cancel it?

I dont want to work backwards, the lowest limit I have is $500 and then $1000 and $1000 for a total of three cards.

Thanks for the input.

Whether you activate it or not or cancel the account it will still report. Even after closing it will continue to report for up to 10 years afterwards. If it doesn't have a criminally high annual fee I'd leave it open and use it from time to time.

Just my 2 cents.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800, 10/10-813
TU - 10/10-774
You can do the same thing with hard work

Re: HSBC Activation question

LOL nevermind, I got my answer, yes even if you dont activate the card you need to call and cancel.

The amusing part was, I called the backdoor number and got transfered to 5 different people with each one's engrish getting better till the last guy spoke perfect engrish.

That guy kept me on the phone for 20 min trying to talk me out of not canceling. The first thing to go was the AF. Told him I wasnt interested in a $300 CL.

An den........ why it would be best for me to keep the card. About 15 different reasons besides a higher CL. LOL, too funny.

I told the guy I had the RZBB card for 4 years at $500, and why did he think I would get a CLI later when the other one wouldnt budge.

Man this guy worked hard, I felt bad for him LOL, but he was tough audiance, wouldnt budge on the $300.

So there you have it if anyone runs into the same thing Smiley Happy
