HSBC Balance Transfer Question

Hello. I am trying to do a balance transfer from American Express to HSBC. HSBC wants me to fill out a form but I dont get some of the questions.

Account Number

Issuer/Bank Name

Issuer Address

Issuer City

Issuer State

Issuer Zip

Transfer Amount

Confirmation Email

I don't know what to put for the bold ones. Do I put the city where American Express is headquartered? I am kinda confused. Thanks for any help!

Use the address, city, state, and zip that appears on your billing statement.  Smiley Happy

LOL! That makes sense. Thanks. I dont get paper statements but I checked online and this is the only address on there.

AMERICAN EXPRESS
BOX 0001
LOS ANGELES CA 90096-8000

I'm guessing they mean PO Box. Weird. I've never seen it written as just "Box XXXX".

You should check the payment address on your electronic billing statement.

The payment address will be on the .pdf document that looks like the paper statement you would receive if you still received paper statements.

For my own American Express cards the payment address is:

AMERICAN EXPRESS
P.O. BOX 650448
DALLAS TX 75265-0448

It won't matter if HSBC sends the payment via ACH, but if they mail a check you want it going to the right place.

That Box 0001 address is for mailed payments.

Re: HSBC Balance Transfer Question

Is it a new HSBC card? I did a balance transfer last month but my card came with Balance transfer checks so I didn't have to worry about it getting to right place by mail. If not maybe they can send you some if that would be easier

Yes brand new HSBC Gold. They did mention checks but didn't send any. I just assume online would be easier. This is the first time I've done a balance transfer. Only been building credit for 3 years.

Re: HSBC Balance Transfer Question

Agreed with the others....whatever is address is on your billing statement.

I live in Ohio and I would have to assume it is broken up by region.  Here is mine.

AMERICAN EXPRESS
P.O. BOX 1270
NEWARK NJ 07101-1270
