HSBC / Orchard question

I just got approved for an Orchard card. My question is, can i apply and receive another product such as, a BEst Buy store card or HSBC card?

You *may* be fine if you wanted the BB card or BB MC, but you would probably get shot down if you went with HSBC since they limit the number of cards. This is always YMMV, but if you want to risk the inquiry for HSBC, then go for it. That pre-selector has known to pre-approve then shoot people down for having the "max" number of HSBC cards. Some are allowed 1, 2, 3... It is really up to HSBC and they don't tell you ahead of time, unfortunately.

Edit to kinda clarify, the Best Buy cards seem to not always count in the "max" for *some*

Of the two, I think you might have better luck with the Best Buy card. I was pre-approved for HSBC MC and then when I apped (and wasted the hard) I was denied and the reason listed was maximum number of cards from HSBC, which was 2 for me. I called for a recon. and was told that I would be able to apply for another product with them, but the current accounts I had weren't old enough for the number to be raised yet. One of the cards was two years old, and one was just under a year (11 months). The rep told me that it was the 11 month old card that got me declined, even though it was paid in full every month. She said that once it hit the year I should be fine. This was in May. I haven't bothered to try again yet though.

I too have the HSBC/Orchard and my max cards with HSBC is 1. I applied for a Best Buy store card, and was denied and when I called for a recon I was given that info. I wish I had known ahead of time because it was a wasted hard INQ. Oh well I did get a free EQ report for the denial.

They told me I can apply again in 18 months, which will be after having the card two years. Then again with the Feds telling CCC's they need to loosen up for the holidays you might just get approved right away.
