Re: Handy Plastiq Chart

Oh jeez, it's cheaper to pay my monthly HOA bill via Plastiq than it is to let them charge the credit card directly (3% convenience fee).

Guess will be playing with Plastiq, like, now.

Thanks for the link CC!

Oh and LOL, here I was thinking I couldn't make the theoretical CIP SUB while still keeping everything scrupulously tidy from a separation standpoint: quarterly tax payments, go!  Double kudos CC!

And things that make you go hrm, maybe I will chase a few more SUB's on the business side if it gets rolling and I can find worthwhile ones, no real downside at that point.  Actually, can you do that instead of withholding money from paycheck and yet still not get dinged by the IRS at the end of the year if it's on the up and up money wise?

I can.  Why didn't I find this earlier when I had SUB's to meet, that's several non-trivial SUB's per year even if I pushed it.

Re: Handy Plastiq Chart

With the 2.5 percent fee this only seems to be useful to people who can't meet sign-up bonuses via natural spend.  Doesn't seem any credit card general spending where you could get close to this in return.

Re: Handy Plastiq Chart

It certainly helps on multi sign up bonuses but also they run promos as mentioned at 1.5 mc fees which you can come out ahead

@CreditCuriosity
Most certainly! I look at it like this. I still come out with something. I may lose a little on the fee. It's helped me meet some very heavy subs over the last six or seven months.
And I've been doing two at a time and rolling into to others as I finish them up.
Paying my mortgage and auto loan are natural spends for me. Unfortunately they don't take CCs.

I've met one BBVA, one Citi AAdvantage bonus, two Navy Fed bonuses, two US bank bonuses, one Wells Fargo spend bonus and working on two other bank CC SUBs presently. All thanks to Plastiq!
When added up the gains well outweigh the fees. That's somewhere around $4000 in sub values for me.
Snagging that much in subs in a short period, is no easy feat for an average G!😆

Yeah like I said it only helps people who can't meet sign up bonuses through natural spend on credit cards.  If you have a $2000 mortgage and pay it every month through the card it will cost you $600 a year.  Even the best case say Hyatt would be worth $432 on points.

Agree, really the only use for this is sign up bonus spend. Other than that, you're pretty much losing in most cases. It can be useful to meet sign up spend but to me that's about it.

Thanks for the reminder about tax!   After reading this, I just paid my 1Q 2019 ES using the Paypal Business Debit.  Fee is flat $2.55 and should get 2% back from "backup funding PPMC cashback card", and this route may disappear Mar 11.
