Hi all,
Is it possible to get approved for higher end credit cards like the Venture X or the Amex Platinum with a low income?
The Venture X I'm going to say no way. Even though Amex seems like they are willing to approve some people with little more than a pulse for a Platinum, or Gold... That low of an income has me leaning towards a no as well, unless you have a thicker file, great credit and/or other assets to convince them otherwise... they do have a pre-approval tool that is SP only though.
Why even bother w/ an AF card that is 4.6% of your income and the SUB spend would be about 40% of your income.
This as to be one of the craziest threads of all time......

The only time that app can make sense or even get approved is if there's a joint income (spousal/partner) that you have access to and can include.
Otherwise, for your own sake, DO NOT even entertain that thought!
Oh and welcome to myFICO!
Stick around!
There's an infinite credit wisdom to be had here!☺️

Simply for the sake of the Data Point I find the OPs question to be intriguing.
As for ranking this one of the craziest threads of all time. I feel you under-estimate the sheer craziness of some questions. ![]()
I didnt think so, but have seen online where some people have claimed to get high end cards even though they had low income so I was
curious if it was possible.

As crazy as it may sound it's not far fetched . The probability is very low as a card like the X seems to have more stringent underwriting but don't be surprised at what can be accomplished on a low income .
Once read a poster here with a 15k income score a $10k Amex and that's pretty impressive when you see others with high income getting $1k limit. Everything is profile dependant and maybe someone with low income has high assets.

Welcome to the forum. It is not hard to get approved for the Amex Platinum card. It is hard to get approved for the Venture X.

This. If your income is low but your credit score is 800+ and you have a long credit history with no derogs, you shouldn't have any issues getting approved. Many retirees fall into this bucket.
