Hilton Honors Ascend card keep/get rid of?

My AF just posted on my Hilton Honoros Ascend card with Amex. Its a $95 AF. Looking for feedback on the best move here. I currently have an amex business plat so get hilton gold status with that. I receieved a code for the free annual night a few weeks ago even though the AF isn't due until July. I'm thinking about cancelling this card. Will Amex try to claw back the free night? How long is the free night good for? I believe you only get a free night for the first anniversary so its not like I would keep getting free nights each year. I'm thinking I should close out this card as I could likely get other amex cards that are more useful to me down the line.

Amex has not been known to claw back awards such as free nights and companion airfare certificates.  Your Hilton account will list the expiration date of the certificate.  You are correct that unlike the SPG card after August 1st, the free night is a one-time thing.  If you're looking to get future SUBs from Amex, I would consider keeping the card open until after you've opened the new account due to their new policies on SUBs.  On the other hand, if the card is useless to you then it may just be worth closing or at least trying to get a retention bonus.

- I'm at my max number of cards as is so I will need to shut some cards. I'm trying to get under 5/24 so I won't be applying for any personal cards soon. I keep all amex cards until the end of the first year. Having a hard time justifying paying $95 for basically no added value.
