How Do You Keep Up With Your Cards

I'm sure everyone does it differently but I just want to get some ideas on keeping up to make sure UT is good and you make sure you get things paid before statement hits. Thoughts??

Re: How Do You Keep Up With Your Cards

I have a spreadsheet with card, limit, balance, due date, and when I last paid

but I do a lot of manual tweaks to my finances so don't consider this a recommendation

Method 1:  Autopay balance in full on due date.   This is great if you are not concerned with utilization, either because you are not apping or because your spend is small compared to CLs.

And also, people have cards from the same issuer, e.g. I have four Citi cards.  With one login, I can see them all and decide what, if anything, needs to be done.

Some people here might be a little OCD about micromanaging their cards, but if they are having fun, great!

Re: How Do You Keep Up With Your Cards

Personally, I have quick links to all my card accounts on Chrome. They are lined up across the top under the address bar. I also know when they all close their monthly cycles. I just keep up on them every few days and make sporadic payments online throughout the month and finally again before the cycle closes.

Biz cards that don't report to personal CRs( all of mine except the Spark), I usually just let close with the full balance and then pay it over the following week or two.

I have thought about using another service/interface but I never seem to. I just maintain the accounts via frequent direct visits to my accounts online. As for keeping track of rewards, I know what gets used for which purchase so there's no need for anything tool there.

Start (Sept 2011): low-mid 600s. NOW: TU FICO: 801, EQ FICO 808, EX FICO 798 (PSECU). Goal: Achieved! Now Maintain!

Re: How Do You Keep Up With Your Cards

I'm old fasioned. I just use my computer's calendar (which is synced to my phone, and my computer at work, so not that old fashioned...), with recurring events set for due dates and statement cutting dates. I have reminders set a couple days to a week before. What I really do, though, is once or twice a week, look at the calendar, look at the creditor's website, and then log into my bank's bill pay, and do a week's worth of bill paying all at once. If I spend money on something that I don't want on the statement, I pay it immediately. For things that I'm reimbursed (I have a small amount of that for work, and rather a lot more for our joint household expenses), I pay as soon as I'm reimbursed, as it makes my bookkeeping easier. ng bills, I put them on the bill pay schedule when I get the bill, or very shortly thereafter. It's not that much work, once you have everything set up. The idea of doing this without a computer and online bill pay is daunting. I used to, and made mistakes...

Re: How Do You Keep Up With Your Cards

I've tried Mint but they don't take GE or any local accounts so Manilla seems to be better. Has anyone tried Mobilligy?? I assume all these are supper safe? Mint breaks down spending better than Manilla but just don't like they don't use GE.

totally but I'd have about 1/8th of the total credit limits I have now if I wasn't micromanaging, at least in the same time period
