Re: How Does AMEX Calculate Blacklist Date?

I received my first Amex (green card) in 1986. I used it once, for dinner. Nwver received a statement bill in the folliwing weeks. I assumed, incorrectly, that I had used it at the end of a billing cycle so wouldnt rwceive the bill for the dinner for another month. I went to use it about 3 weeks later and it was declined. I called them and they said my account was closed bc I never paid my bill. I explained I had never received a bill and the card was brand new with only one charge for a dinner on it. This fell on deaf ears. It made no sense to me that they would honestly believe I wouldn't pay my very first bill. But my argument was to no avail. Fast forward 20 years, and I have the Amex everyday card, but still can't the green card. I'm an authorized user on hubby's Gold Rewards card.

I am unable to get a Serve card to replace those I was judged to misuse.   But other cards are fine.   Probably because thse come from different parts of Amex.   But strange none the less!
