How Often Do Credit Card Companies Update the CBAs?

What are the typical update patterns for most credit card companies - the beginning of the month? It seems my report score never changes until the beginning of each month?

I understand that inquiries show up almost within days of occuring; however, it seems my actual accounts only get updated once a month. Moreover, there often seems to be a two month lag on updates. For example, most of my accounts on my report that I ran today, via CreditSecure, seemed to only be updated as of July 2007, not August 2007?

Is this typical? Or is it because I'm using creditsecure to run my reports. Does FICO or direct reports get more recent info?

Most CCCs report statement balances around the time of the statement

I think inqs are day of inquiry
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
