How Reliable Is CreditCards.com's CC PreScreen Offers?

Trying to determine success rates for credit card prequalifies from creditcards.com..  Have you been successful in being approved for cards they preselect for you based on your soft pull of your credit report?  Thanks

Yes. It worked for me and my wife on two separate Amex applications.

Just tried it and gave me First Premier (UGH) and capital one(which I already have 3 cards with so would not be approved)

Good luck

It is pretty reliable, but keep in mind that it SP's your TU report...even if you get a pre-screened offer for AMEX, they will pull EX. As long as your reports are pretty consistent with each other there should be no problem. If not, then make sure you know the institution you decide to take the offer with pulls TU.

Just FYI, you get the exact same results even if you don't enter your SS.

I don't think it takes into account inqs in relation to how sensitive a particular bank is to them. That would be too hard to determine for a simple blanket pre-screen.

Also keep in mind, it is looking at your TU report (Like already stated), so if it is preapproving for Amex, it really can't account for inqs on your EX anyway.

|| Barclaycard Rewards Visa $5500 || AMEX BCE $2000 || Discover IT $3000 || Amazon Rewards Visa $1800 ||
|| Chase Freedom $2700 || CSP $5000 || Chase Marriott Premier $7500 || Sallie Mae MC $3800 ||

FICO Scores: EX 752 (3/13/13) || EQ 782 (10/4/13) || TU 724 (1/18/13)

Re: How Reliable Is CreditCards.com's CC PreScreen Offers?

It worked for me. I applied Amex BCE through it, and creditcards.com has better opening rewards for this card.

Last App: 09/17/2013 // No App Until: Mortgage (05/14?)

Cards in my wallet: AMEX BCE ($8000) // CITI AA VISA SIG ($5000) // CHASE FREEDOM ($3500) // DISCOVER IT ($1000) // CAP ONE NC ($1000) // WALMART DISCOVER ($1600)
Credit Scores: FICO TU08 (10/13): 739 // Credit Karma (10/13): 677??!! // Credit Sesame (10/13): 730
Next Goal: CSP (after mortgage probably...)
