No cash rewards on Blue lol.

But Blue give 1 dollar 1MR point, same as normal Green, Gold charge card. I am thinking cancel my green and get a blue to reserve my MR points. And you dont have to pay AF for blue! That's only AMEX card that can earn MR point without AF! And one of the two revolers that earn MR, other one is AF 95 dollars Benz credit card. Since I value MR point to 1pt 2.5 cents.

Sounds like I made a good choice Smiley Happy.

Oh really? I thought Blue had MR Express points like the Zync.

Yes, if MR points are more valuable to you.  In DavidZeng's scenario, he will not lies his MR points from his Green card - and so it's a win/win.  For a revolver, without a large sign up bonus and/CL you really will be working hard to achieve a lot of MRs

Something I noticed about Discover though, they tend to give higher limits when they see you don't alot of credit available or low limits (in my case). I've heard that US Bank and PenFed is definitely hard to get approved for. AMEX has been been a little more lenient over the years in my opinion. They approved me for an BCE with an 683 although most sites say the average is somewhere around 700 for the card.

I say be happy and celebrate for the new approvals! Smiley Very Happy

AMEX BCE (30K), DISCOVER IT (29.5K), NFCU CASH REWARDS (25K), BOA TRAVEL REWARDS (15K), USAA VISA (13K), CHASE SAPPHIRE RESERVE (13K), COMMENCE MASTERCARD (7.5K), CHASE FREEDOM (7K), CHASE FREEDOM (7K), TFCU CC (2.5K), TARGET REDCARD (900)

It earns true MR point, and withou AF, I will apply it soon to store my MR points during the period without AMEX charge card. I will cancel my green, apply for PRG, farm sign up bonus, close PRG before AF, wait a few months, and eventually apply for Platinum.

Unless my memory is foggy, Blue was MRE. Again, I could be wrong.

I did find this to help show the difference. But it might be outdated

People tend to view Amex as the card to show that they've made it in the credit world. I think they were viewed as being more prestigious in the past, but they were easier to get approved for than US Bank and Discover in my own experience.

+1

Exactly.  In the old days, yes.  Not so much today.  Just about every other person carries a Centurion-issued AMEX of some form.

I also checked the T&C of Blue again, I find this interesting http://www.membershiprewards.com/catalog/splashtemplates/TermsSplash.aspx?rfs=1

It said some blue can earn MR point, maybe AMEX changed the policy of Blue recently, since I am new here, I did not know blue used to earn MRE, but under the T&C I read now, it earns MR.

I saw the T&Cs too.  The phrase 'some' makes me wonder. I remember it being the Card to yes when canceling charge cards like you mentioned but hadn't thought about it much lately.

Hopefully, someone with the card can chime in with the definitive answer.
