We fall into several types of categories: new to credit, rebuilding, and established. I was wondering how did you test drive your credit once you felt like it was good enough to app for cards?
For the rebuilders, once you hit a certain point did you test drive your newly found improved credit status like a Cadillac, slow and smooth? Or did you run it like a Lamborghini on the autobahn?
Personally, the 690 mark was my threshold(after being sub 500 at one point). At that point, my credit put on gasoline drenched underwear and went dancing around a campfire drunk. Got approved for a 50k auto loan, Chase freedom, Barclay and BCE, among others that I am too ashamed to admit. All on the same day lol. Maybe not the most responsible thing to do but a year later it has worked out pretty good.
So what was your threshold score and did you go slightly crazy with it, like I did, or did you hang on to that precious score for a while? If you went on a massive app spree how far did you take it?I hit scores in the 670s and attempted to apply for the Amazon Visa, failed miserably, and ran back to the garden.
Actually don't let the Chase amazon card get you down, they have some really really funky underwritting.. Their are numerous ppl in mid 700's that are declined for that. card. I didn't let that really phase me (your scores were higher then mine except TU) about two weeks later applied for freedom approved, three weeks later Amex Delta approved, 1 week later CSP approved, two weeks later CSP approved and so on... Ya the Chase Amazon is a weird beast. ... Make sure your utilization is under control if so, don't let one denial of a weird card get you down.. I would try the Freedom IMO..
I snuck out and gave it a whirl in January when my scores were in the low 600's. I feel fortunate that I got a Barclay Sallie Mae on recon and a Cap One Venture instant approval. I also added a BofA secured on recon to restablish my relationship with them.
Current plan is to stay in the garden until July, but if my scores go over 680 before then, I may exit the garden and go for it. I've got 4-6 cards I'm interested in an will try to get maybe 3 at that time.

Those are some good acquisitions with a low 600 score! And last I heard boa can graduate so that's a plus

For me I didn't really have a game plan. After I got my cap one around this time last year I applied for an amex and was denied. After they denied me I unconsciously gardened for like a year. At that time I wasn't on the forum or lurking and didn't know how gardening helped your score. All I did was charge my card and pay it if full. But after I got that pre approval from CapOne for a quicksilver last December, that was it. I got the quicksilver along with a CSP, Ritz, and Marriot all in a day. At this time my FICO was a 750+, it's now a 730. I recently got denied a amex BCP, so I'm in the garden until my next and final spree in December. In December im going for a AMEX BCP, Chase Hyatt, Chase southwest, citi diamond prefered, and a Salie mai (getting the Salie mai for the he11 of it) then I'm done.. Also how many chase cards can you have? I currently have 3 and want to add 2 more for the purpose of consolidating the limit. I heard at a certain number chase might freak out and close all of your accounts.
I've seen some on here with at least 4.
I haven't hit the test drive spot yet!
I'll be gardening for at least 6 months (except apartment hunt apps) and then, if my scores are 670 across the board, I'll be trying for Discover IT, and Barclays RMC. If not, then I'll continue gardening until they are!

I still would circle back to chase and get your foot in the door with the freedom, just saying
... Amazon Visa is just a weird weird card for UW... Great folowup to a denial which imo you shouldn't of been denied as that is suppose to be the easy card to get, pfft... Anwas you got probably the toughest card Barclay's has up there with the SM if not tougher to get!
